A Service to celebrate Harvest was held on 20 October in church. Many thanks as always to those who decorated the church and who donated items of non-perishable food + hygiene items which were sent to the Red Cross to be distributed to those in need.

GENERAL

Gratitude.  If you did not see the September issue of Roqueta, Menorca’s English-language magazine, do check the church website https://www.anglicanchurchmenorca.net/roqueta-article-gratitude, where Paul’s article is reproduced. Excellent and well worth reading.  A message for us all.

Mission Giving to Peru.  Following our support for two students last year, we are in the process of making a further small donation to one of them so that she is able to complete the last part of her studies.  We are also seeking to identify additional students to support in the current year.

Coffee after Sunday services.  All the coffee and biscuits are donated free to provide this service each week, faithfully served by two members of the fellowship.   However we do ask for a small donation of 1.50€ per cup of coffee each week – these donations are used to support the Foodbank and also invested in other areas (eg flowers).

Digital Card Reader -  not yet in full use !   But we are working on it.

Chaplaincy Council. The next meeting of the council will be on 28 November 2024.

Members of the Chaplaincy Council for this year are David Green, Church Warden, and Liz Astley, Carole Brayford, Colin Guanaria, Suzanne Hodges (treasurer), Heike Pieper, and Margaret and Trevor (the two Archdeaconry Synod representatives.

Heike has spent most of the summer in Germany with her family but sadly her mother, Melitta Imöhl, died on Thursday last week.  We pray that Melitta may rest in peace, and that light perpetual may shine upon her.  We pray, too, for comfort and peace for Heike and her family

The weekly services of Holy Communion are recorded.  If you are not on island or cannot be in church but would like to follow the service, contact Paul and he will send the link.
