About
And the greatest of these is love.
The Anglican Church in Menorca has as its focus the church of Santa Margarita in Es Castell, c/Stuart, 20. Worship takes place every Sunday at 9:00 and 11.00 (Common Worship), Wednesday at 11:00 (BCP) and Friday at 11:00 (healing prayer). Visitors of any denomination are welcome.
Since June 2013, Santa Margarita has been served as chaplain by the Rev. Paul Strudwick.
Rev. Paul writes:
I am delighted to be serving the church of Santa Margarita in Menorca, taking responsibility for nurturing Christian ministry and worship within the Anglican chaplaincy on the island. For the previous nine years, I served as rector of Saint Catherine’s Anglican Church in the city of Port Coquitlam, near Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada. I am excited to be embarking on a new adventure in ministry in another beautiful part of the world. We are enjoying taking our time to discover the varied aspects of life in Menorca, especially by walking around the many paths and trails, such as the Camí de Cavalls, to discover the beauty of both the coast and the interior of the island.
My wife, Kate, is from Carmel, California. We met through her mother, whom I knew as a parishioner at All Saints Episcopal Church in Carmel, where I was an associate priest.
Between us we have four adult children or stepchildren, Mandy and Michael, who live in California, and Emily and Jack, who remain in British Columbia. Mandy, married to Michael Armes, gave birth to twin boys, Jameson and Lincoln, in October 2015.
I was born in the United Kingdom, and graduated from the University of Sussex with an Engineering degree. I worked in various telecommunications companies in the UK, Canada and California before pursuing ordination in the Episcopal Church of the USA.
I hope this will be a long and fruitful partnership in ministry for the English-speaking community of Christian faith in Menorca. As we settle into life in Menorca, I am delighted to be sharing this stage of transformation in the spiritual journey of the congregation of Santa Margarita.
